For MICE service, Rex Hotel offers one of the biggest function halls in HCM city. It’s Lotus Ballroom has a capacity of up to 750 guests, while the 190-seater Sunflower Ballroom is ideal for lectures and smalls scale seminars. Both are located on the first floor of the New Wing and were put into operation in early July or 2008.
In the East Wing, there are seven meeting rooms with capacity for any kind of event; be it meeting for ten or a conference for 400.
Also locate in the East Wing are the elegant Hoa Hong Banquet Room and Hoa Dao Banquet Room to welcome distinguished Vietnamese and foreign guests and superior officials.
Conference halls are equipped with modern facilities, movable stages and partitions, lecterns with microphones, overheads and projectors, portable screen, LCD projectors, laser pointers, modern international system hex-lingual auto switch channels, stand microphones and wireless microphones.
The staff, many of whom were trained in MICE serving proficiency by Raffles Knowledge Private Limited (RKPL) owned by Raffles Hotels and Resorts, also contributes to the MICE value of the hotel.
The five-star Rex Hotel Saigon, managed by Saigontourist centrally located next to The People’s Committee Building, and within walking distance to the Opera House, Reunification Palace and the fashionable shopping on Dong Khoi street, is the perfect venue to host business events, focus groups, seminars or any upscale private function.
In 2009 revenue from this sector rose 51% over 2008. Despite the economic recession, trade show and large conventions are still being held regionally and serious deals still being signed.
