Le Belhamy Hoi An Resort & Spa

World is out, Le Belhamy Hoi An Resort and Spa on Ha My Beach, promises a fantastic break away from the big smoke. Lan Phong finds out if the rumours are true.

We visited the resort one bright summer day, two months after its grand opening. The 10-ha area of deserted beach is covered with leafy trees and colorful flowers peppered with villas and houses.

A young doorman briskly approached us with a friendly, wide smile and asked to help us with our luggage. He then beckoned us into a small buggy car, waiting to take us to reception and then to our rooms.

The journey was breath-taking. We followed a winding lane through glorious blankets of flowers and brand-new villas and house nestled under tall coconut trees and hedges surrounded by climbing plants.
The resort is made up of 131 rooms, including villas with private gardens and polls, plus four century-old timber houses from the North of Vietnam, which have been reconstructed on site.

La Belhamy offers a variety of sophisticated architecture, including Western, Asian, local Hoi an, and traditional Vietnamese. There are 74 deluxe gardens and sea view villas, three suites, 20 gardens villas and 34 pools villas (private pool and garden) in a surrounding of hospitality, relaxation, enjoyment and tropical landscapes.

Our garden villa reflected in its décor. The room was spacious, fully air- conditioned and furnished with simple but elegant rattan table and chair, mini bar, satellite and flat screen tivi set, and more. A small terrace opened out onto a wonderful view of the swimming pool and gardens.

Meanwhile, the pool villas all have their own private garden with a swimming pool. These villas are on two levels with a comfortable living area, dining space and well appointed bathrooms located on ground level. Bedrooms with king-sized beds are located upstairs. The three suites feature traditional Asian style decoration living room and sofa bed, large bathroom and balcony while the only honeymoon villa features a king-sized bed, private swimming pool and garden front beach and sea view.

The Japanese villas feature Japanese style decoration and have twin beds, living-room with shower, bath-tub facing the private Japanese patio. And the one bedroom queen villas are built in a style reminiscent of Hoi an Ancient Town.

They have a romantic loft style bedroom on its own level and additional bedding available downstairs for children. In addition, the ground floor also contains an open plan living space which is complemented by a well appointed bathroom. We also took advantage of the excellent restaurant and bars. Le Belhamy has a Le Champa Restaurant with sea/pool view, serving variety of international cruise, full bar and large wine selection. Besides, they have three bars of which the Beach Pool Bar is the perfect place to enjoy a poolside snack from a tasty selection if international and favorites; Champa Bar offers pretty garden and pool  views and serves an extensive selection of the fine wines, classic cocktails, local and imported beers and all-day snacks; and Garden Pool Bar offers a variety of light snacks, fresh juices, soft drinks, local and imported beers and refreshing cocktails – perfect for  refueling after a day in the sun.

At present, Le Belhamy is offering a special summer promotion which lasts until 31 August. This program offers guests 50% discount on their second and consecutive night stays to a maximum of 4 nights.
